Front Door Panel Removal/Installation

1. Raise the glass fully.

2. Remove the door panel.

3. Disconnect the latch actuator connector, and remove the cap, then remove the plastic cover as needed.

4. Remove the access cap. Using a clip remover, disconnect the outer handle rod from the outer handle base.

70

5. Remove the bolt, and remove the center lower channel by pulling it downward, then pull the glass run channel away as needed.

6. Loosen the bolt until the lock cylinder can be removed from the outer handle base.

7. Release the hooks of the outer handle cover by pulling it rearward and out to remove the cover. For the driver's door, push the lock cylinder back

towards the inside of the door.

71

8. Disconnect the outer handle light connector.

9. Pull the outer handle out and back as shown to remove it from the door. Take care not to scratch the door.

10. Install the outer handle to the door, and connect the light connector.

NOTE:

Install the outer handle front and rear seal if removed.

11. Install the lock cylinder and the cover (driver's door), or the outer handle cover to the base (front passenger's door). Torque the bolt to 9.8 Nm

(7.2 Lb-ft).

12. Install the center lower channel, put the glass run channel back in place, and torque the bolt to 8 Nm (6 lb-ft).

13. Connect the outer handle rod to the outer handle base, then install the access cap.

14. Install the plastic cover, the cap, and connect the latch actuator connector.

15. Install the door panel.

^ When reinstalling the door panel, make sure the plastic cover is installed properly and sealed around its outside perimeter to seal out water.

^ Make sure the door lock and handle work properly.
