REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Open the trunk lid.

2. Using a plastic trim tool, pry out the trunk light, then disconnect the 2P connector.

40

3. Pull up on the outside ends of the trunk lid cushions, slide them outwards, and pull them out.

4. Detach all the clips using a trim tool, then remove the trunk lid trim.

5. Remove the license plate, then remove the two screws from the rear license trim.

6. Disconnect the 2P connectors from both license plate lights, then remove the lights.

41

7. Remove the two bolts and the two nuts from both back-up lights. Do not remove the lights.

8. From inside the trunk, squeeze the backside of the rear license trim clips with needle nose pliers, then remove the trim from the trunk lid.

9. Disconnect the 6P connector from the rearview camera, and detach the clip. Then carefully remove the camera by gently lifting up on the bracket

and then tilting the bottom out.

NOTE:

Handle the camera carefully; it's delicate and can be damaged if dropped.

10. Remove the clip from the harness.

42

11. Remove the two screws that attach the camera to the bracket. The screws will not be reused.

12. Using side-cutters, cut the old camera bracket in half to remove it from the camera harness.

43

13. Slide the camera harness through the hole in the new bracket, then secure the camera to the bracket with two new screws.

14. Reconnect the 6P connector, and reattach the clip.

44

15. Reinstall the rearview camera with the arrow on the bracket pointing up. Firmly seat the bracket (bottom first) in the trunk lid hole, then gently

snap in the top of the bracket.

NOTE:

The bracket clip is delicate and can be broken if the hook is not seated correctly.

16. Test the rear camera operation while in reverse.

NOTE: The camera brightness is adjusted by rotating the interface knob while viewing the image.

17. Reinstall the connector clip. If the clip is damaged, replace it.

18. Reinstall the rear license trim, the trunk lid trim, the trunk lid cushions, and the trunk light.
