Nothing about the new 911 Speedster would surprise anybody with much knowledge of Porsche. The Speedster is a 911 intended to pay tribute to the old 356 Speedster that had so many people fall in love with the brand in the first place. Well, that's exactly what it looks like, a 911 with some 356 parts. Not to say that this is a bad thing, neither car is lacking in either fun or beauty, but it surprised nobody.
While this predictability means that we know it will be a great drive, it does also mean that we can know it will never quite look right with the top up. Thankfully, the engine and transmission are in the part of the car that's 911. This means a 408 horsepower 3.8 liter flat six mated to Porsche's PDK dual-clutch transmission. The Speedster also turns out a predictable 0 to 60 time of 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 190.
